Two years ago, full- and part-time dealers, keno and simulcast employees at Caesars voted YES to become part of the UAW. During the next six months, dealers, slot techs and other casino workers at Trump Plaza, Bally’s and Tropicana also joined the movement for justice in the gaming industry by voting YES to form our own unions.

We have elected our bargaining committees; we are ready to work with the casinos to improve our jobs so we can keep providing the best possible service to our customers. But the companies are refusing to meet us halfway – either refusing to meet, or engaging in stalling tactics.
We’re taking our fight to the next level, with support from the Gaming Workers Council, a powerful new alliance which brings together the United Auto Workers, The Transport Workers Union (TWU) Gaming Division, SEIU and the AFL-CIO.
Working together, we will achieve a fair deal for all casino workers.
UAW – Organizing the Gaming Industry
In addition to more than 3,000 dealers and other gaming workers in Atlantic City, UAW-represented dealers at Casino Aztar in Evansville, Indiana and Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut – the largest casino in the world – have voted to form their own unions and are currently in bargaining with their employers.
More than 8,800 gaming workers are members of the UAW. Dealers at MGM Grand Casino, Greektown Casino, and Motor City Casinos were the first dealers in the United States to organize and successfully negotiate contracts.
