United Steelworkers walk out on Caesars conference

Members of USW District 4, attending a conference at Caesars casino yesterday, sent a loud and clear message to protest management’s stalled contract negotiations with dealers and slot technicians.

Some six hundred USW members marched through the casino floor with whistles blaring and gathered on the boardwalk for a picket. They informed Caesars management that they would not be gambling at their casino until the labor dispute is resolved.

The protest stretched from the entrance of Caesars to the door of Bally’s, and the noise of hundreds of whistles blaring at the same time could be heard throughout the boardwalk area. Casino customers were once again very supportive, and many were awestruck by the sight of a picket line stretching a full city block.
